Country Music & Lifestyle News App Design Project
Project Brief:
This project focuses on designing a user interface (UI) for a Country Music and Lifestyle News App named "The Western Wire" targeted toward a Gen Z and Millennial audience (ages 18-26). The app will offer a unified source for country music fans to access the latest trends in music, lifestyle, and entertainment. Currently, there are no country music and lifestyle apps on the market for this demographic. Existing platforms such as CMT, Billboard, NPR, Taste of Country, and Country Living Magazine are aimed at an older audience and lack mobile app presence. This project will address the gap by creating a mobile-first solution, optimized for younger users.
Inspiration:
The project draws inspiration from Country Music Television (CMT) and similar competitors in the country music and lifestyle space. These sources inform the content strategy while the design will cater to the mobile-first needs of Gen Z and Millennials.
Problem Statement:
The absence of a dedicated country music and lifestyle app targeted toward a younger demographic (Gen Z and Millennials) limits the availability of convenient, mobile-accessible content. Current platforms only offer websites or cater to an older audience, thus missing out on engaging younger fans in the country music community.
Design Focus:
Utilize Figma to develop a comprehensive UI design system, focusing on grid systems, typographic scales, and color accessibility.
Create a branded, visually appealing UI that resonates with country music culture and lifestyle trends, ensuring a modern, yet approachable aesthetic.
Emphasize usability and accessibility to make the app user-friendly for a wide range of users, including both casual browsers and dedicated fans.
