Texas Roadhouse Annual Report Design Project
Project Brief:

This project focuses on designing a digital Annual Report for Texas Roadhouse, a Texas-themed steakhouse known for its made-from-scratch menu and vibrant, rustic atmosphere. 
The goal of the report is to the company’s plain text report into a 24 page document into a visually engaging and branded piece that appeals to stockholders, enticing them to engage with the company’s financial highlights, corporate activities, and performance data.
Design Vision:

The report will capture the essence of Texas Roadhouse's down-to-earth, family-friendly environment with a focus on 3D elements, embossed wood textures, and vibrant, people-centered imagery. The design will use a combination of bold typography, dynamic layouts, and rich textures to reflect the warm, rustic charm of the brand, while the inclusion of data visualizations will make the financial information more digestible.
Key Features:
Cover Design: A striking cover inspired by Texas Roadhouse’s Western heritage, featuring elements like embossed/burned wood, and stylized typography reminiscent of a traditional steakhouse menu.
People-Based Imagery: Photos of Texas Roadhouse's core audience and employees will highlight the sense of community. Images of the brand's key offerings—like its famous USDA Choice Sirloin, appetizers, and drinks—will be prominently featured to reflect the company’s customer experience.
Data Visualizations: Infographics will simplify key data, such as financial performance and growth metrics. Pie charts, bar graphs, and iconography will be used to illustrate important information, making it more engaging and accessible.
Brand Identity: The report will maintain Texas Roadhouse’s signature aesthetic—rooted in the casual, friendly, and hearty dining experience, with an emphasis on warmth and approachability.
Challenges & Solutions:

The problem lies in Texas Roadhouse’s existing plain, text-heavy annual report, which doesn’t reflect the energy of the brand or appeal to its key demographics. The solution is to infuse the report with the restaurant’s character—bold, fun, and engaging, using design elements that connect with both its younger middle-class audience and older upper-class patrons. The final product will combine an effective narrative with data visualizations that showcase the company’s financial success and commitment to quality.

This projects outcome was to embody Texas Roadhouse’s distinctive atmosphere, making the annual report not only informative but also a reflection of the brand’s commitment to quality, community, and the dining experience.
